Born and raised in Louisiana, Robin Caroll is a southerner through and
through. Her passion has always been to tell stories to entertain
others. Robin’s mother, bless her heart, is a genealogist who instilled
in Robin the deep love of family and pride of heritage—two aspects Robin
weaves into each of her books.

When she isn’t writing, Robin spends time with her husband of
twenty-plus years, her 3 beautiful daughters, 2 precious grandsons, and
their character-filled pets at home—in the South, where else?

ABOUT THE BOOK

Following an attack that killed her mother and stole her ability to
speak, 21-year-old Sophia Montgomery has no choice but to accept her
estranged grandmother’s offer to return to their family home. Although
detective Julian Frazier is working hard on the case, Sophia unknowingly
frustrates him because her inability to speak thwarts her eyewitness
evidence. The fact that Julian is undeniably attracted to Sophia doesn’t
help either, so Julian hides his feelings as concern for a trauma
victim and focuses instead on finding the killer.

Little do they know, the clues to solving the case may be right in front
of them, displayed in Sophia’s mother’s “special” quilt design. Who
will realize the secret Sophia’s unwittingly been hiding in plain sight?
When the truth comes to light, will Sophia find her voice again? Or
will the murderer—still at large—silence her forever?

A boy coming of age in a time of war…
the love that inspires him to survive.

For ten year-old Jeremiah Prins, the life of privilege as the son of a
school headmaster in the Dutch East Indies comes crashing to a halt in
1942 after the Japanese Imperialist invasion of the Southeast Pacific.
Jeremiah takes on the responsibility of caring for his younger siblings
when his father and older stepbrothers are separated from the rest of
the family, and he is surprised by what life in the camp reveals about a
woman he barely knows—his frail, troubled mother.

Amidst starvation, brutality, sacrifice and generosity, Jeremiah draws
on all of his courage and cunning to fill in the gap for his mother.
Life in the camps is made more tolerable as Jeremiah’s boyhood
infatuation with his close friend Laura deepens into a friendship from
which they both draw strength.

When the darkest sides of humanity threaten to overwhelm Jeremiah and
Laura, they reach for God’s light and grace, shining through his people.
Time and war will test their fortitude and the only thing that will
bring them safely to the other side is the most enduring bond of all.

He made himself an island until something unexpected washed ashore.
When Holton lost his wife, Adele, in a freak accident, he shut himself
off from the world, living a life of seclusion, making drifwood
sculptures and drowning his pain in gin. Until twenty-three-year-old
Libby knocks on his door, asking for a job and claiming to be a friend
of his late wife. When he discovers Libby is actually his late wife’s
illegitimate daughter, given up for adoption without his knowledge, his
life is turned upside down as he struggles to accept that the wife he’d
given saint status to was not the woman he thought he knew.

Together Holton and Libby form an unlikely bond as the two struggle to
learn the identity of Libby’s father and the truth about Adele,
themselves, and each other.

In a Drought, It's the Darkest Cloud

That Brings Hope

It's 1954 and Perla Long's arrival in the sleepy town of Wise, West
Virginia, was supposed to go unnoticed. She just wants a quiet, safe
place for her and her daughter, Sadie, where the mistakes of her past
can stay hidden. But then drought comes to Wise, and Perla is pulled
into the turmoil of a town desperately in need of a miracle.

Casewell Phillips has resigned himself to life as a bachelor. . .until
he meets Perla. She's everything he's sought in a woman, but he can't
get past the sense that she's hiding something. As the drought worsens,
Perla's unique gift divides the town in two, bringing both gratitude and
condemnation, and placing the pair in the middle of a storm of anger
and forgiveness, fear and faith.

Words from the author:

Hi, I'm Amber, but my friends call me Tiff, short for Tiffany, my first
name. I am in my mid-30's, married to the love of my life since July
2007, have a daughter and a son, and live in Colorado. Here, I am
content to do what I love—write, speak, and offer virtual assistance.

Thanks to the gentle nudging of a fellow author -- Tracie Peterson -- in
2002, I joined the American Christian Fiction Writers and wouldn't be
published today without them. For those of you who are also fiction
writers looking for a wonderful support group, check them out! My very
first book, Promises, Promises, sold in December 2006 and released in February 2008. I've been going steady ever since.

When Alyssa Denham, a single career woman, wins a fun getaway for two on
Mackinac Island where her grandmother lives, she gives her carefree
best friend a call. Together, they tour the old shops and hidden
treasures of the quaint island while helping Alyssa’s grandmother piece
together an heirloom quilt. Their quest gains them entrance into the
homes of many longtime residents of the island, parts of the city that
are otherwise off limits to tourists.
As the quilt’s story takes shape, Alyssa gains amazing insight into her
grandmother’s life . . . and attracts the attention of the handsome
Scott Whitman, an island resident in charge of hotel transportation.
Will memories of her past keep Alyssa from letting go? Or will the quest
to piece together the heirloom quilt restore Alyssa’s fractured
heart—and bring healing to her entire family?

A rally for a controversial presidential candidate.
A terrorist threat.
A nightmare of cataclysmic proportions.

Jack and Pamela Crittendon have hit the breaking point. After months out
of work as a reporter, Jack is playing Mr. Mom and working part-time at
Festival Arena with his survivalist friend Brian Shakespeare.
Meanwhile, Pamela has gone back to work full-time while eight months
pregnant. Having her recently widowed mother on hand isn't making
matters any easier.
With financial pressures boiling, Jack reports for duty at a rally for
controversial presidential candidate Martin Sterling where he expects a
mindless night on the job. But when Homeland Security picks up intel
about a potential terrorist threat, Jack and Shakespeare are thrust into
a life-or-death battle to save their own lives--and the lives of
thousands of innocent people.

Enthusiastic but slightly untidy mother of two, Allie Pleiter writes
both fiction and nonfiction. An avid knitter, harp player and
non-reformed chocoholic, she spends her days writing books, doing
laundry, running carpools and finding new ways to avoid housework. Allie
grew up in Connecticut, holds a BS in speech from Northwestern
University and currently lives in suburban Chicago, Illinois. The "dare
from a friend" to begin writing eight years ago has blossomed into a
career that includes numerous public speaking engagements, two books on
parenting; Becoming a Chief Home Officer and Facing Every Mom's Fears and now novels for Steeple Hill Books. She is the mother of two children and, most recently, a Havanese dog named Bella.

The Courage To Hope.

Guidance counselor Heather Browning is desperate. She needs a mentor to
help Simon, a disabled student who is struggling at Gordon Falls High
School. Unfortunately, hotshot Max Jones is her only option.
Confrontational and cavalier, Max uses his flashy persona to hide the
bitterness he's felt since his life-changing accident. Perpetually
cautious, Heather finds Max's bad-boy bravado as intriguing as it is
infuriating. But as Heather and Max work together to build Simon's
self-confidence, they begin to trust each other. Max has never been slow
and careful with anything. Can he be gentle with Heather's heart?

Gordon Falls: Hearts ablaze in a small town.

Destitute, grief-stricken, and unwanted by the people of God, Ruth
arrives in Israel with nothing to recommend her but Naomi's, love. Her
loftiest hope is to provide enough food to save Naomi and herself from
starvation.

But God has other plans for her life. While everyone considers Ruth an
outcast, she is astounded to find one of the most honored men of Judah
showing her favor. Long since a widower and determined to stay that
way, Boaz is irresistibly drawn to the foreign woman with the haunted
eyes. He tells himself he is only being kind to his Cousin Naomi's
chosen daughter when he goes out of his way to protect her from harm,
but his heart knows better.

Based on the biblical account of Ruth, In the Field of Grace is the
story of a love that ultimately changes the course of Israel's destiny
and the future of the whole world.

After a whirlwind romance, Taryn Young is preparing to board a plane at
Houston International Airport, bound for a dream honeymoon, when a bomb
decimates the terminal. Injured but still alive, she awakens to discover
her husband is missing and they’re both considered prime suspects in
the attack. Further, the FBI is convinced her husband isn’t who he
appears to be.

Agent Grayson Hall’s number-one priority is to catch those responsible
for the day’s act of terror. All evidence is pointing to Taryn and her
new husband. But his instinct tells him her pleas of innocence are
genuine. Is her naiveté just for show, or could she truly be another
victim of a master scheme, possibly linked to the software she recently
developed for her company?

With both their lives and reputations on the line, and the media outcry
for justice increasing with each passing minute, Taryn and Grayson have
no choice but to trust one another . . . and pray they can uncover the
truth before they become two more casualties.

Lisa Belcastro lives with her family on Martha’s Vineyard. She loves
chocolate, gardening, outdoor activities, cooking, laughing, reading,
traveling, a healthy dose of adventure, and her cat Ben, who keeps her
company while she spends hours working at the computer.

She was inspired to write Shenandoah Nights, the first book in the Winds
of Change trilogy, while chaperoning two Tisbury School summer sails
with her daughter, Kayla, aboard the schooner Shenandoah. The weeklong
adventure, sans electricity, Game Boys, iPods and modern conveniences,
kindled her imagination to dream of an altogether different voyage.

In addition to writing romance novels, Lisa currently pens the cuisine
column for Vineyard Style magazine. She has worked as a staff and
freelance reporter and photographer for The Chronicle of the Horse and
as assistant editor at The Blue Ridge Leader. She has written articles
for USA Today, Dressage (London), USA WEEKEND Magazine, The Blue Ridge
Leader and Sidelines.

When she’s not at her desk, Lisa is living in paradise, volunteering at
her daughter’s school, serving in her church community, planting and
weeding her numerous gardens, trying to run a marathon a month, or
walking the beach looking for sea glass.

What if she met the man of her dreams...in another century? Tisbury,
Massachusetts, Martha s Vineyard. It s just a dream, Melissa Smith
whispers as she stares into the intense eyes of a man dressed in
Colonial clothes, as though stepping out of an American Revolution movie
set. A school chaperone with Holmes Hole Elementary, she d boarded the
old schooner Shenandoah for a weeklong educational sail. But they are
not visiting Plimoth Plantation, the Boston Tea Party Museum, or the
Concord Bridge reenactment. They re sailing the waters around the island
of Martha s Vineyard. Yet, when she awakes in Cabin 8, the captain
claims to be Isaiah Reed, who sailed the original Shenandoah in the
eighteenth century. He cannot possibly be real, Melissa thinks. And
traveling back in time is impossible. But days pass, and she s still in
1770. What if Isaiah, who is simply too handsome to be real, is real?
What if the fire he ignites in her from barely a touch isn t in her
imagination? Can a dream last for weeks on end? If so, how will she find
her way home...to the twenty-first century? And can she bear to leave
the one man who has captured her heart, when everything in her longs to
stay? A Vineyard Romance Romance, history, adventure. Get swept into the
exciting Winds of Change series.

Elizabeth Maddrey is a semi-reformed computer geek and homeschooling mother of two who loves a good happily ever after.

Elizabeth Maddrey began writing stories as soon as she could form the
letters properly and has never looked back. Though her practical nature
and love of computers, math, and organization steered her into computer
science at Wheaton College, she always had one or more stories in
progress to occupy her free time. This continued through a Master’s
program in Software Engineering, several years in the computer industry,
teaching programming at the college level, and a Ph.D. in Computer
Technology in Education. When she isn’t writing, Elizabeth is a
voracious consumer of books and has mastered the art of reading while
undertaking just about any other activity.

She lives in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. with her husband and their two incredibly active little boys.

Tara Randel has enjoyed a lifelong love of books, especially romance and
mystery genres, so it didn't come as a surprise when she began writing
with the dream of becoming published. After finding Romantic Times
magazine in a bookstore many years ago, she found information about
writing organizations. Soon after, she joined Romance Writers of
America. She located the local RWA chapter and immediately attended her
first meeting. There was no stopping her after that!

Through Tampa Area Romance Authors, Tara learned all about the business
of publishing, starting with the craft of writing to behind the scenes
of publishing. She served as contest coordinator for four years and
served as President for one year, enjoying the organization and the
lasting friendships made there.

When not writing, Tara owns a business with her husband and stays busy
with her two daughters. She lives on the West Coast of Florida, where
gorgeous sunsets inspire the creation of heartwarming stories, filled
with love, laughter and the occasional mystery. Enjoy!

Molly Henderson and Ben Weaver have been rival magazine writers for the
same publishing group for years. When both come up for the same
promotion, they find themselves in an unexpected competition to win the
spot. Molly, editor of Quilter’s Heart, and Ben, editor of Outdoor
Adventures, must switch roles, each working for the other for one month,
then submit an article at the end of their quests.

Can girly-girl Molly survive the outdoor adventures that Ben has
planned? Can Ben navigate the perils of the social dynamics of quilting
events without destroying a valuable quilt in one short month? More
importantly, in this he-said, she-said situation, will Molly and Ben
give in to their attraction and fall in love, no matter who wins?

When soldier Caitlin McKae woke up in Atlanta after being wounded in
battle, the Georgian doctor who treated her believed Caitlin's only
secret was that she had been fighting for the Confederacy disguised as a
man. In order to avoid arrest or worse, Caitlin hides her true identity
and makes a new life for herself in Atlanta.
Trained as a teacher, she accepts a job as a governess to the daughter
of Noah Becker, a German immigrant lawyer, who is about to enlist with
the Rebel army. Then in the spring of 1864, Sherman's troops edge closer
to Atlanta. Caitlin tries to escape north with the girl, but is

Rebecca DeMarino was born in Pensacola, Florida, the daughter of a Navy
pilot. Her mother made a home for the family of six all over the map,
including Virginia, Nevada, California, Washington, and Guam, before her
parents put down anchor on a ranch in Oregon.

As the wife of a young Air Force officer, married life brought more
travel. She relied on her mother’s example of how to make a home
anywhere. Her three beautiful daughters were born in Florida, Alaska and
Nebraska.

Retired after sixteen years with a major airline, she manages to fulfill
her love of wanderlust with frequent family or research trips.

Rebecca grew up listening to her mother’s family lore of a
great-grandfather from generations ago. Barnabas Horton sailed from
England in the 1600’s, to Long Island, N.Y., on a ship called The
Swallow. In 1999, after she found Horton Point, L.I., on a map, Rebecca
and her mother made the journey to see the lighthouse named after their
ancestor.

The legend goes that Barnabas brought a slab of blue slate with him from
England, and had the epitaph he wrote himself engraved on it. The blue
slate still exists in the Old Cemetery in Southold, L.I., with the Bible
verse, “He being dead, still speaketh.” Much information was found
about Barnabas, but none of his wife, save a mention in his will.

Her mother passed away in 2005, but Rebecca returned to Southold many
times, drawn by her Puritan roots and English heritage. Each time she
wondered about her ninth great-grandmother, a young woman who married a
widower with two young boys and then followed them for the wilds of Long
Island, leaving behind her home and family. What were her dreams? Her
motivations? Her fears?

Rebecca’s historical romance novel, A PLACE IN HIS HEART, debuts with
Revell, a division of Baker Publishing House, in June of 2014.

Anglican Mary Langton longs to marry for love. Puritan Barnabas Horton
is still in love with his deceased wife and needs only a mother for his
two young sons. And yet these two very different people with very
different expectations will take a leap of faith, wed, and then embark
on a life-changing journey across the ocean to the Colonies. Along the
way, each must learn to live in harmony, to wait on God, and to
recognize true love where they least expect to find it.

This heartfelt tale of love and devotion is based on debut author
Rebecca DeMarino's own ancestors, who came to Long Island in the
mid-1600s to establish a life--and a legacy--in the New World.

This may sound crazy, but I was driven to write romance by giant bugs
and killer rabbits. I just couldn't take it anymore. My husband and two
sons would be camped in front of the television watching a movie about
spiders the size of bowling balls, and I'd be wondering when the
handsome scientist would get around to kissing the spunky woman with the
bug spray. When it didn't happen, I decided to write my own happy
endings--without the giant bugs...
Known for her realistic, likable characters and vivid writing, Victoria
Bylin writes both western and contemporary inspirational romance. Her
books have finaled in the ACFW Carol Awards, the Rita Awards and RT
Magazine’s Reviewers’ Choice Awards. She and her husband currently live
in Lexington, Kentucky and have two grown sons.

Finding each other was only the beginning . . .

When Kate Darby swerves off a mountain road to avoid hitting a
California condor, she ends up trapped in her car, teetering on the edge
of a cliff. Terrified, she breathes a prayer that changes her life.

It's Nick Sheridan who comes to Kate's rescue. Nick is handsome and
confident, and he seems to develop a habit of rescuing her, but Kate is
in town only until her grandmother recuperates from a stroke. She's not
planning to get involved with one of the locals.

Nick is a reformed veteran of life in the fast lane, a new Christian,
and a travel writer. When he sees a car dangling on the edge of a cliff,
the daredevil in him jumps into action. He doesn't expect to be swept
off his feet by the car's occupant. He's made a vow--no dating for a
year--but keeping that vow is going to be a lot more difficult now that
he's met Kate Darby. . . .

After her fiancé returns from the Klondike gold rush in 1897, Florence
Harms sets about building a new life in her new marriage—even though the
lingering effects of illness have left her weak and vulnerable. She and
her young husband, Will, work tirelessly to clear the land around their
Northwest cabin, content with their modest life.
But then a stranger comes knocking and Florence suddenly senses a
restlessness in Will’s spirit that she had never seen before. When he
leaves her with only a note that tells her he will return before their
baby’s birth, she is devastated, and the illness that stiffened her
joints returns. Counting the days until Will walks back through her
door, Florence busies herself with a Tree of Life quilt displaying a map
of the farm they call home. Doubts claw at her heart as Florence
struggles to believe Will’s promise to return to her. Will her labor of
love—and faith in God—sustain her as she waits to see her beloved once
again?

Wynter Evans is a promising young reporter for a television station in
St. Louis, but even a bright future doesn't take away her pain over the
disappearance of her brother nine years ago. So when she stumbles across
a photograph of a boy with an eerie resemblance to him, she can't pass
up the chance to track him down. With research for work as her cover,
she sets out with one of the station's photogs for the place where the
picture was taken: the town of Sanctuary.
Almost as soon as she arrives, she meets the town's handsome young
mayor, Rueben King, and together they begin to uncover long held secrets
that could tear the small town apart and change everything Wynter
thought she knew about her life. As the truth of her family's past hides
in the shadows, it's clear someone will stop at nothing to keep the
answers she's searching for hidden forever--even if the cost is Wynter's
very life.

For more than a decade, Sandra D. Bricker lived in Los Angeles. While
honing her chosen craft of screenwriting in every spare moment, she
worked as a personal assistant and publicist to some of daytime
television's hottest stars. When her mother became ill in Florida, she
walked away from that segment of her life and moved across the country
to take on a new role: Caregiver.

The author says that it was her 8th novel that opened the door to
finding her way as a writer. "I'm a Christian woman, first and
foremost," she says. "So it was a bit of a dream-come-true when
Summerside Press chose me as one of two authors to launch the Love Finds
You line."

Sandie's real-life role as cancer survivor has parlayed into her
steadfast commitment to raising awareness and funds for ovarian cancer
research. Spearheading a series of devotionals for Summerside Press
(such as the popular His Grace is Sufficient...Decaf is Not), the author has stipulated that a portion of each contributor's proceeds will go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

"Being allowed to combine my faith and my humor with raising funds for
my pet projects ... and still pursue my writing dream," says Bricker,
"well, that's the best of all worlds, as far as I'm concerned!"

And one of the author's pet projects is animal rescue, evidenced by the
special bond she has created with one particular formerly-abandoned
puppy -- a red-haired collie with "killer brown eyes and the heart of
the class clown."

Shannon Malone thought she'd found her happy ending when she married
Edmund Ridgeway, but a diving accident on their honeymoon left her in a
coma. Waking
up to the news that she's thirty years old would have been daunting
enough . . . but she also learns that Edmund has lost his interim battle
with cancer and the
world has marched on without her. Her gorgeous doctor, Daniel Petros,
seems to know everything about her and becomes Shannon's tour guide into
a whole new world of
madness where reality television has taken over the planet and
everyone's life appears to revolve around a tiny screen on their cell
phones!
As Shannon struggles to navigate through the changes-both in the world
and in her-she also must discern real memories from imagined ones. Did
she really ever wear capris pants and entertain in her living room, or
was that Laura Petrie from her favorite classic TV show? And where is
her beloved dog, Freeway? Oh, wait! That was Jonathan and Jennifer
Hart's dog, not hers. Shannon's three elderly aunts flit through her
life in true Sleeping Beauty style with her well-being always a
priority.
And Edmund's sister Millicent descends like the Evil Queen she is,
trying to extract Shannon from any claim on the Ridgeway family fortune.
When a tornado moves through town and Shannon is knocked unconscious,
will Daniel's kiss awaken her once and for all?

A few things about her:

So, if we were having this conversation in person, we would probably be
hanging out at Starbucks or one of the cute coffeehouses in town. I’m
nuts about all things coffee, I’m crazy about all things pink and girly,
and I love, love, love the Food Network! I’m married to my best friend
and the most amazing guy ever, Jon. He is amiable toward coffee, does
not like anything pink or girly and tolerates the Food Network. So, we
make a good match! In July 2010, we became parents to one of the
funniest, cutest, sweetest little guys in the whole world (and nope, we
aren’t biased at all!), our Nater-Tot, who is legally known as Nathan.
Most days, I’m cleaning up messes, making goofy faces, trying to fit
some writing in, and just LOVING the life that God has given me!

Despite her valiant efforts, Paige Alder seems stuck in chaos. Her new
job as youth intern keeps her hopping from coffee shop to coffee shop
all summer long, but at least she’s loving the one-on-one time she gets
to spend with the girls. The unfortunate side-effect is that now, four
weeks of laundry fills her apartment. Plus, she barely has time to help
her sister and best friend with their weddings! And even worse?
Something is definitely wrong between her and Tyler. She apologized for
what he thought he saw happen with Luke. Can’t they move past it? Or
could there be something he’s not telling her—something that could
change everything?

I’m Emily, and I’m honored and humbled to meet you, friend.
We’re all stumbling along on this journey and you can approach me about
anything okay? I’m an open book, with dog-eared pages and a worn cover.

I’m mama to two boys, ages two and four, and married to a
farm-boy-turned-math-teacher. We live in a small Dutch hamlet with three
churches, one Co-Op and no stop lights. There are a lot of fields out
here, there’s a lot of space and sky for breathing and running and
writing.

We foster two boys in addition to our own two, and before I had kids, I
took care of my Mum who had brain cancer. She fought back and has
recovered, all glory to God, and my pastor-father still holds her hand
while they go for daily walks.

I battled anorexia nervosa as a child, and then again as a newly married
woman, and I write a lot about body image now and have a passion for
women to learn to love themselves.

My husband and I have battled infertility and are currently trying to
adopt our third child through the local Alberta government.

I hurt for the church, and believe in it, and pray for it, as I’ve grown up inside its walls and have heard its groanings.

I have a heart for Africa, particularly Uganda, and went there in January on a bloggers’ trip with World Help.

My favorite things to do are read literary novels, play guitar, snowboard, paint with oil and acrylics and hug my babies.

I am the author of two books on eating disorders, a novel releasing this spring, and a memoir coming out this summer.

I hope you’ll connect with me on FB:
https://www.facebook.com/emilytwierenga, or if you prefer, Twitter:
@emily_wierenga. I’d love to have a virtual glass of wine, or cup of
coffee, with you.

Peace to you friends,

After the end of World War II, Clara Kirkpatrick returns from the
Women’s Army Corp to deliver a dying soldier’s last wishes: convey his
love to his young widow, Mattie, with apologies for the missed life they
had planned to share.

Struggling with her own post-war trauma, Clara thinks she’s not prepared
to handle the grief of this broken family. Yet upon meeting Mattie, and
receiving a baby quilt that will never cuddle the soldier’s baby, Clara
vows to honor the sacrifices that family made.

Now a labor and delivery nurse in her rural hometown, Clara wraps each
new babe in the gifted quilt and later stitches the child’s name into
the cloth. As each new child is welcomed by the quilt, Clara begins to
wonder whatever
happened to Mattie—and if her own life would ever experience the love of
a newborn. Little does she know that she will have the opportunity to
re-gift the special quilt—years later and carrying even greater
significance than when it was first bestowed.

A Word from Harry:

I started writing my first novel during my last year of surgery training
at UK. I was a chief resident, and started writing Stainless Steal
Hearts in a call room at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in
Lexington. It was a crazy time to write! I had a very demanding
schedule, often spending days and nights in the hospital. I had two sons
at that time, and I recognized the wisdom in my wife's urging: "Now
doesn't seem the right time for this dream."

My experience as a writer is far from typical. Having received my formal
training in biology and chemistry and medicine, my only preparation for
a writing career was a love for reading. The longest thing I'd written
before my first novel was a term paper in undergraduate school. My first
novel was accepted by Crossway Books and published in 1994, and it
wasn't until after I had FOUR published novels that I even opened a book
of instruction about the craft of writing fiction. This is not what I
recommend to others! Yes, I was successful, but I was bending the
"rules" without knowing it. I had a natural talent for plotting, but I
realize my initial success may have stunted my growth as a writer. I'd
have made faster progress if I'd have gone to the fiction teachers
sooner.

I have three sons: Joel, Evan, and Samuel. Look closely in all of my
books and you'll see them there. My lovely wife, Kris, provides the
basic composition for all those beautiful, athletic, dedicated women in
my novels.
She Could Save Millions, or Save Herself

She just needs a little longer. She’s really close. Dr. Rebecca Jackson,
a medical researcher, stands on the verge of a breakthrough that will
transform medicine. But she soon discovers the reason behind the
miraculous progress in her research, and it leaves her with a nearly
impossible choice . . . and little time to decide. More than her
research is at stake. And more threatens it than this latest revelation.
Something she’s tried hard to cover up. There is a high cost to some
things in medicine and it’s not always the patient who pays. Can Rebecca
find the faith and wisdom she needs to make the right call? The clock
is ticking and the pressure is on.

I am the author of seven novels. Five adult novels and two middle grade
readers. I never wanted to do anything else but write and every day I
wake up astonished that I get to do what I always dreamed about. My days
are filled with words and images along with the usual family stuff. I
have three children, Rebekah who is married to Joshua. They have three
of the most adorable boys on the planet, Lemuel, Cedar and Soren. My
daughter Emily Kate is a lovely young woman anthropologist and my son
Adam is fourteen and a student--he's a genius who loves frogs and
lizards and fish and plants. He amazes me.

I have never eaten a scallop. I love cream soda. Drink way too much
coffee. I do not like elevators but I do enjoy needle arts and of course
books. I prefer jazz over country (no offense), milk chocolate over
dark, but not roller coasters although my life has often resembled a
roller coaster ride.

One of my life's desires is to meet Amy Grant so I can tell her she saved my life.

Maybelle can’t sew. But when she finds an unfinished quilt in the attic
of her mother’s house, she gets the crazy idea to complete it. At first,
it’s just a way to fill the lonely nights while her husband, staff
sergeant Holden Kanzinzki, is away fighting in World War II.

Yet when Maybelle discovers that the quilt is made from scraps of
material that can be traced back through her family heritage, the
project is suddenly much more important. Then word comes that Holden is
missing in action, and with little else to do, Maybelle clings to the
quilt as much as to the hope that her husband is still alive. As
neighborhood friends gather around Maybelle to help her through the
unknown days and nights ahead, it is the quilt that becomes a symbol of
her unflagging belief that Holden will return—to her, to their home, and
to their quilt-covered bed.

Two years ago, her fiance perished during their voyage to America.

Now she discovers it may have been murder...

Dreaming of a better life, Tillie McGrath leaves Ireland behind and,
with her beloved fiance by her side, sets sail for America. But when
illness robs her of the man she holds dear, she's left alone with only a
handful of tattered memories. While forging on proves difficult, Tillie
soon finds some new friends at her New York boardinghouse, and begins
pursuing a new dream--to open a home for orphaned children.

Despite two years passing, Captain Keondric Morgan has never forgotten
the lass who left his ship so heartbroken. When a crewman's deathbed
confession reveals her fiance's demise was the result of murder, the
captain knows he must try to contact her. But his attention draws the
notice of others as well--dangerous men who believe Tillie has in her
possession something that could expose their crimes. And to their way of
thinking, the best way to prevent such an outcome is to seize the
evidence and then hand Tillie the same fate as her naïve fiance.
